| COMMUNITY AND CULTURAL DOMAIN | |
| CULTURE/FOLKLORE INDIGENOUS KNOWLEDGE / TRIBAL RELIGION AND IDENTITY | Where as a collage or a university has the demarcation of knowledge in to many disciplines and departments, the villages and multiversity's have no such boundaries and we all see the culture and education as a complete whole in totality. We can not isolate oral from the written and music fro the song and rituals/festivals from the epics and myths. Every thing is integrated whole and we learn from the totality of a configurationally attribute of a culture than to break it to the disciplines that disconnect the knowledge and create theoretical limitations. I studied Folklore and tribal culture and worked in education. A Gandhian thinker Prof Chittaranjan Das told me , " education and culture are complementary and not opposed to each other. If you do folklore and work in education why don't you look at education in Folklore? What is folklore to you is education for the children." This was my theory of learning and I learnt from the community knowledge and put them in school curriculum. To me CULTURE/FOLKLORE, INDIGENOUS KNOWLEDGE / TRIBAL RELIGION AND IDENTITY, are inseparable and integrated whole. |
